Description/Job Summary

ECHO was established to offer comprehensive, individualized employment, vocational training, and community integration opportunities for adults with disabilities. ECHO provides services in our facility and on-site services for businesses in the Northern Virginia area.

Summary

Under the supervision of the Sr. Program Coordinator, responsible for specific case management of program participant services and specified enclave/mobile work crew employment sites. Supports other management staff in providing related services. Assists in administering daily operations and supervises direct support staff. Acts as a liaison among ECHO program participants, families, Support Coordinators, and ID Teams. Assists with maintaining ECHO’s compliance with all federal, state, and local program requirements.

Responsibilities/Essential Functions

  1. Provide management, including performance evaluations, leave approval, hiring and firing, disciplinary action for assigned enclave sites
  2. Develop ISP’s/PCP’s in conjunction with the program participant, families, case management, and enclave staff; assure implementation and write related reports for assigned program participants
  3. Maintain contact with families, residential providers and support coordinators to ensure successful placement for individual’s served, and smooth coordination of services
  4. Substitute as necessary when regular substitute cannot cover staff absences, including substituting for drivers as needed
  5. Assist DSPs to identify, recommend and implement meaningful community based activities that incorporate program participant preferences and choices, support the community and maximize the independence and esteem of individuals served while enhancing the understanding and awareness of others in the community to better include the people we service
  6. Assist DSPs to identify, recommend and implement an activity that supports cultural diversity on a quarterly basis to improve understanding of individuals similarities and differences of different people and communities around the world
  7. Develop agendas for ECHO staff meetings in coordination with CEO, Director of Program Services, Employment Services Manager, Program Coordinators and other staff, as appropriate
  8. Represent ECHO at planning/outreach meetings as required
  9. Approve leave for assigned staff in coordination with Sr. Director of Operations
  10. Act as liaison and communication between visiting teachers/students from the local schools
  11. Assist Employment Services Manager with intake and point of contact liaison responsibilities for persons entering ECHO from all referral sources with other Program Coordinators; share other point of contact needs with other Program Coordinators
  12. Monthly utilization review for assigned program participants, ensuring that all slots are filled
  13. Plan for staff training, recognition, and support
  14. Follow up and troubleshoot with host companies as necessary
  15. Crisis intervention, as needed
  16. Assist with hiring/training process for new direct support staff and drivers, including performing their orientation, ID Orientation Handbook training, assisting with scheduling any related training and completion of necessary paperwork
  17. Perform additional related  job duties as assigned
KSAs
  • Extensive knowledge of implications of various disabling conditions
  • Thorough knowledge of legal rights of persons with disabilities
  • Thorough knowledge of supportive services, both local and regional
  • Thorough knowledge of supported employment as it relates to a group models of employment
  • Thorough knowledge of business and personnel practices
  • Thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations
  • Proven ability to supervise and support direct service staff
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain effective relationship with consumers, families, and agency representatives
  • Proven management skills (personnel and staff)

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree plus any combination of education/experience equivalent to a master’s degree
  • Extensive experience in provision of services to persons with disabilities
  • Extensive experience in staff supervision and management
  • Considerable administrative experience

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing duties of this job, the employee is required to talk, type, open and close filing cabinets, push a wheelchair and rider, and lift up to 50lbs.

Status: Full-time

FLSA Classification: Exempt

Salary Range: $43,000 - $46,000
